This journey takes you through the dense forests of Sagarmatha National Park. You know Sagarmatha National Park is one of the 10 World Heritage Sites of Nepal.

A large variety of flora and fauna are conserved in this high altitude protected area. You can also see the Himalayan Pheasant, the national bird of Nepal.

Everest region is the home of the Sherpas who are synonymous to Nepal trekking, Nepal Peak climbing and Nepal mountaineering. As soon as you hear the word ‘Sherpa’, you come to think about the adventurous tourism in Nepal. There has been hardly any expedition that has been successfully done without the Sherpa guide. Even for Lobuche Peak expedition, the Sherpa guide is more reliable!

Lobuche East Peak climbing package rewards you with the Tibetan Buddhist culture and tradition. There are numerous monasteries, chortens and mani walls throughout Everest Base Camp trek route. The colorful prayer flags and wheels make these shrines more lively and beautiful.

Lobuche Peak climbing with Everest Base Camp trek is the most preferred adventurous trekking in Nepal. In this trip, you can not only experience peak climbing in Nepal but also reaching Everest Base Camp (5,364m) and Kalapatthar (5,550m).You will have the 360-degree panoramic view of Mt. Everest (8,848m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516m), Mt. Cho Oyo (8,201m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812m) and many more. The Khumbu Glacier and the Khumbu Icefall are other prominent attraction of Lobuche peak climbing.

Lobuche Peak Climbing Route

Lobuche Peak climbing route begins after a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and then trekking to Phakding. Moving ahead along the Dudhkoshi River Valley and Sagarmatha National Park, you reach Namche Bazar.

After spending an extra day at Namche Bazar, you move further towards Tengboche and Dingboche. You stay at Lobuche the following night and after that, you move to Everest Base Camp via Gorakshep. To hike to Kalapatthar, the best vantage point of the entire Everest region, you stop at Gorakshep.

Next morning, you hike to Kalapatthar enjoy the 360-degree panorama of Mt. Everest as well as other peaks and then, trek down to Lobuche. From Lobuche, you trek to High Camp (5,400m) along the steep trail. Some climbers also spend an extra day at Lobuche by making preparation.

From High Camp, you should walk for about 10 hours to reach the top of Lobuche Peak (6,119m) and trek down to High Camp. Next day, you trek down to Pangboche village that is famous for Pangboche Monastery.

Thereafter, by walking past Tenboche, you stop at Namche and final day at Lukla, the gateway to Everest Base Camp trek. The following morning, you catch a morning flight back to Kathmandu from Lukla. This is the Lobuche Peak climbing route you must follow to do this trip combined with Everest Base Camp.

Lobuche Peak Climbing Difficulty

Do you want to do Lobuche Peak climbing with or without Everest Base Camp trek? The answer of this question further helps us talk about Lobuche Peak climbing difficulty.

Lobuche Peak Climbing is a high altitude trekking to Everest region. It is not that easy to cover the rough and rocky trail situated above 4,000m. Moreover, you have to walk for about 5/6 hours per day.

It may not be much problematic for those who are experienced in trekking and peak climbing in Nepal. However, the beginner trekkers may suffer from altitude sickness for sure. It doesn’t mean that Lobuche Peak Climbing difficulty cannot be beaten.

Following some simple techniques can help you get rid of this problem. Some of the most important techniques are walking slowly; keeping fully hydrated; having enough food and sleep; as well as keeping first aid box

Especially, the section from Lobuche Village to Summit of Lobuche Peak is quite tricky and challenging as well. The trails are steeper as they are the less travelled by the climbers.

The ascent from High Camp to the top of the peak is more difficulty. You have to begin the last day trip as early as you can with the help of head torch. With this limited light, it is not that easy to cross some crevasses.

The descent from the top to High Camp is also difficult that you have to use climbing gears like rope, crampons, hand lines, etc. For a few days, you have to spend the nights at a tented camp above 5,000m. On the one hand, the temperature is far below and on the other, you don’t have other option than eating the food cooked by your crew.

Nevertheless, these all the factors contributing for Lobuche Peak climbing difficulty are beatable.

Lobuche Peak Climbing Cost

Lobuche Peak climbing cost depends upon some major factors related with the trip. Firstly, the trip duration plays a vital role in determining the cost.

This Peak Climbing itinerary ranges from 10 days to 18 days and even more. And, obviously, the cost of 10 days is higher than Lobuche Peak climbing 18 days itinerary. You can do this trip with or without Everest Base Camp trek. As a result, the itinerary goes to be different and definitely, the cost becomes different.

Secondly, the services you want to have during the trip also make the trip cost higher or lower. Except two days (High Camp and Summit Day), you will spend the nights at the lodges. Everest trek is popular for high quality of food and accommodation services as it is the most popular trekking region in Nepal.

Lobuche Peak Climbing permit cost is different in different seasons of the year as declared by Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA). You have to pay USD 250 in spring; USD 150 in autumn while USD 70 in winter and summer. The peak climbing cost in spring is highest as this is the peak season for peak climbing in Nepal.

Purchasing or hiring the climbing gears also make an impact on overall cost of  Peak climbing. Definitely, purchasing cost is higher than hiring them.
