Tamang Heritage Trek

 

Nepal as being the garden of different tribal communities with their own unique traditions and culture offers the chance to witness the tribal heritages as well as the natural wonders. Tamang Heritage Trail package of the Nepal Trekking Routes Treks & Expeditions offers the amazing package of trekking in the Langtang region of Nepal taking you to the culturally rich Tamang/Lama ethnic people.

Trekking starts from the magnificent rural highway ride taking you to Syaprubeshi from Kathmandu. The trekking starts from Syaprubeshi to the Gatlang village of Tamang origin people. The staying in the house of Tamang or the lodge operated by the same origin people will give you the exact idea of how is the life being a Tamang or Lama people. The further trekking passing by the village of Tatopani and Briddan will give you further experience on the livelihood of the Tamang People. If you are lucky enough then the time when they are celebrating the festival or the wedding ceremony is the most precious time to know up close about such tribe of Nepal. The cultural importance is there for you to cover while the natural beauty is equally captivating. The views of the Langtang Himalayan range and the whistling of the Langtang river along with other small streams coming out of rhododendron and bamboo forests will be enchanting moment of your entire trekking period. The dip in the natural hot water springs will also help you get rid of the skin diseases as well as helps you revitalize your cells. Once you have savored all these constituents then the further trekking will take you to the Lama Hotel. From Lama Hotel you will conduct the same Langtang Valley trekking route in which after the hiking up in the Kyanjin Ri hill in Kyanjin Gompa the trekkers will reroute back to Syaprubeshi.

Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1467 m.) via Trishuli (Nuwakot)

takes about eight hours. You head north out of Kathmandu driving through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Syabru Besi passing through Dhunche. Stay overnight at home.

Day 02: Trek from Syabrubesi to Gatlang (2238m.)

Goljung takes about six hours. This day you walk through villages. The cultural show at Goljung and Gatlang makes your trekking a memorable one. Gatlang is set high on a hillside among terraced fields and is a Tamang settlement. One can visit a Tamang monastery and beautiful Parvatikunda Lake at Gatlang. Stay overnight at home.

Day 03: Trek from Gatlang to Tatopani (2607m.)

takes about three hours. On the way you enjoy sightseeing of the Langtang range and Ganesh Himal. At Tatopani, you can take hot bath in a natural hot spring. It is believed that taking a dip into this spring will heal you from your aches and pains. Stay overnight at home

Day 04: Trek from Tatopani to Thuman (2338m.) via Nagthali (3165m.) and Bimthang

takes about five hours. The panoramic views of Langtang, Kerung, Ganesh Himal and Sanjen ranges can be distinctly experienced from Nagthali. Stay overnight at home

Day 05: Trek from Thuman to Briddim (2229m.) via Lingling takes about seven hours. You can experience village life of Briddim. Moreover you can enjoy a cultural show performed by community members. Briddim is a Tibetan Buddhist village located in the bosom of the Langtang Himal. Around 43 houses are spread in Z shape. Most of the houses are made up of stone and have roofs of splitshake. Stay overnight at home.
Day 06: Trek from Briddim to Lama Hotel (2470m.) takes about six hours. You walk through Briddim village while observing the local lifestyle and culture and interacting with the locals. Reaching Lama Hotel, you discover that it is located on the banks of the Langtang River and surrounded by lush forests and mountains. Stay overnight at lodge.
Day 07: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang (3430m.) takes about five hours. En route you are quite mesmerized by the beautiful views of the Langtang range. You can also experience and make observations of Tibetan settlements. Stay overnight at lodge.
Day 08: Trek from Langtang to Kyangjin (3870m.) takes about three hours. This day you can see the glaciated valley of Kyangjin on the lap of Langtang Lirung and surrounded by snowy mountains. Stay overnight at lodge
Day 09: rest day Rest day at Kyangjin Gompa and excursion in and around the area. You can visit the monastery and the cheese factory, walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or ascend Kyangjin Ri [4350m], directly behind the village, for a breath-taking panorama of the Langtang peaks. Stay overnight at lodge
Day 10: Trek from Kyangjin to Lama Hotel (2470m.) Trek from Kyangjin to Lama Hotel (2470m.) takes about six hours. From Kyangjin you retrace your route, following the Langtang Khola to Langtang village and on to Ghora Tabela. After lunch you continue the steep descent to Lama Hotel. Day 11: Trek from Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru (2130m.) takes about six and half hours. You continue retracing your steps some of the way to Thulo Syabru, but then branch left up a steep path through the forest. An undulating path brings you to this fascinating village where each house is set above its neighbor, in a long line up the very crest of the ridge. Stay overnight at lodge.
Day 12: Trek from Thulo Syabru to Sing Gompa (3330m) takes about five hours Trek from Thulo Syabru to Sing Gompa (3330m) takes about five hours. From Thulo Syabru it is a steep climb through forests of oak, fir and rhododendron to the top of a ridge. From here it is only a short descent to Sing Gompa. Stay overnight at lodge.
Day 13: Trek from Sing Gompa to Dhunche (2030 m.) takes about four hours Trek from Sing Gompa to Dhunche (2030 m.) takes about four hours. You trek downhill all the way to Ghatte Khola (stream) passing forest, a small village Dimsa and terraces. You then trek over a level path along the Ghatte Khola (stream) till Dhunche. Stay overnight at lodge.
Day 14: Drive from Dhunche to Kathmandu takes about eight hours

Drive from Dhunche to Kathmandu takes about eight hours. You drive through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Kathmandu.
