Itinerary

On your arrival day, the NTR staff welcomes you at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Then, s/he relocates you at the hotel booked for accommodation around Thamel area. In your spare time, you can visit around the most significant touristic area of Thamel. You can also go around the UNESCO World Heritage Sites located in the Kathmandu Valley.

After having your breakfast, you begin the trip by driving in a private jeep for an hour up to Sundarijal, Kathmandu. Then, you walk along the stone staircase and enter into Shivapuri National Park, which is famous for bird watching tour in Nepal. On the way, you see the wonderful outlook of the Kathmandu Valley, some natural waterfalls and animal species like wild boar as well. A few Tamang villages having distinct housing style and Shamanic culture are the beauties to push your move ahead until Chisapani.

While having your breakfast, you have an amazing sunrise view of Annapurna, Langtang, Ganesh Himal and Everest region. Afterwards, you move downhill and uphill through some typical mixed ethnic villages till you reach Pati Bhanjyang. By walking steep trail that passes along the sparse villages situated close to the dense forests, you continue the trekking. The farmland occupied by the seasonal crops and vegetables welcome you to their proximity. Relishing the mesmerizing vistas of the lush valleys and the Himalayas, you reach Gul Bhanjyang for the night stay.

Today’s journey starts after having breakfast by walking along the rugged trail that goes past some Tamang community villages. When you reach a small pass called Kutumsang, you have the stunning view of Mt. Gaurishankar and Langtang Himalayan Range. Walking further through the lush forests of rhododendron and pine trees, you reach Magnigoth for the night stay.

After crossing a suspension bridge, you move across some Sherpa ethnic villages of Sindhupalchok district. You have to cross some small streams to reach Thadepati Pass that shows you stunning view of Naya Kanga (5,844m), Mt. Dorje Lakpa (6,966m) and other peaks of Langtang region. Next, the trail goes along the lush woodlands of pine and rhododendron downhill up to Bolgaun. By crossing a suspension bridge, you reach Melamchigaun, which is dwelt by the Hyulmo Tibetan communities. After reaching the village, you visit a local Tibetan Buddhist monastery decorated with colourful mani walls, prayer flags and statues of Guru Rinpoche.

The trail today runs uphill and downhill through a few Sherpa settlement areas after crossing a suspension bridge over the Melamchi Khola. After walking along the windy trail through the dense forests, you reach Tarkeghyang or Melamchi Bazaar. As the major settlers of this hilly town are the Hyulmo people, it is named Helambu. You take a short look of the oldest and largest monastery of this region, Gekye Gompa by enjoying the vista of Naya Kanga and Mt. Dorje Lakpa. Moving ahead through the forests, the trail leads you to Sarmathang, which is an important village popular for apple production. From the village, you can have the astounding vista of Ganesh Himal (7422m), Langtang Lirung (7227m), Dorje Lakpa (6966m), and Naya Kanga (5844m).

After witnessing the sunrise view of the Ganesh Himal and Langtang Mountain Ranges, you descend towards Melamchi Pul Bazaar. The trail goes past the terraced farmland full of seasonal crops and vegetables for most of the time today. You also walk past some ethnic villages of mixed communities keeping their culture and tradition intact for ages.

Day 08: Drive Melamchi Pul Bazaar – Kathmandu- 4 Hours

After enjoying the alluring mountain vistas and high altitude villages, you begin to move back towards Kathmandu. The travel continues along the off-road and blacktopped road serving the attractive view of the wonderful landscapes and the Himalayas. Driving for about four hours, you arrive in Kathamndu and will be transferred to the hotel. After becoming fresh, you can take a short walk around Thamel to buy some souvenirs or garment items for your people back in your home country. In the evening, our agency organizes a farewell dinner party as a part of hospitality.

This is the last day of Helambu Circuit trek itinerary for 9 days. So, the representative of the agency escorts you up to the Tribhuvan International Airport. Have a wonderful journey ahead!
