You see Kathmandu for culture and heritage, take a mountain flight for Everest views, spend time in Pokhara, and go for a jungle safari in Chitwan National Park. Everything is already arranged in order so you are not stuck planning anything and can just focus on the experience.

So grab your shoes, pack your bags, and bring a bit of adventure with you and visit Nepal for this wonderful Nepal tour in 2026 with Nepal Trekking Routes.

What is the Nepal highlights tour exactly?

Nepal highlight tour is a short trip around Nepal that just focuses on touring the main destinations in Nepal for which people actually come for.

You start in Kathmandu, do the mountain flight for Everest views, move on to Pokhara, then finish with a jungle safari in Chitwan National Park. It’s planned in a way that you keep moving through the major spots without wasting time or repeating things. It's a short and easy day multi day tour in Nepal.

For a country that is both geographically and socially so diversified, it’s not a new thing that you get to see differences in each place you visit. There’s so much to learn, so much to see, so much to take and so much to give. So let's start your Nepal tour journey, shall we?

Nepal Highlights Tour Highlights

  • Visit the world famous Pashupatinath Temple and explore the Hindu culture in Kathmandu.
  • Explore the ancient city of Bhaktapur, also can be called as the “living cultural museum.”
  • Helicopter flight to the Annapurna Base Camp and admire the stunning views of the Annapurna mountain range.
  • Take a jeep tour of the Chitwan National Park, home to unique wildlife such as tigers and rhinos.
  • Participate in a spiritual and cultural experience at the Lumbini Garden, the birthplace of Lord Buddha.
  • Go rafting on the Trisuli River and see some of the most spectacular scenery in Nepal.
  • Explore the ancient city of Patan, known for its intricate wood and metal carvings.
  • Visit the beautiful lakeside town of Pokhara and admire the views of the Annapurna mountain range.

Nepal tour with helicopter ride to Annapurna Base Camp

This is yet another activity in your Nepal tour package in 2026. From Pokhara, you take a helicopter ride straight towards Annapurna Base Camp. There is no trekking involved and you'll just fly directly into the mountains.

You will land for a short time if that's included in your Nepal tour itinerary, step out, look around at the Annapurna range, take a few photos. Because of the altitude, the stop is not long.

Then you will fly back to Pokhara the same way. This helicopter tour package in Nepal is simple up and down journey, mostly just for the mountain views.

Who is this Nepal tour itinerary suitable for?

This Nepal tour itinerary is picked by people visiting Nepal for the first time who want a simple route through the main places instead of figuring everything out on their own. It suits travelers who want Kathmandu’s heritage sites, Pokhara’s lake views, and a jungle safari in Chitwan in one plan. The focus is sightseeing, culture, and wildlife, not trekking.

It is different from trekking in Nepal routes like Everest Base Camp, which require more time, fitness, and planning. This itinerary avoids that and stays on accessible travel routes.

The mountain flight to see Mount Everest is included for Himalayan views without trekking into high altitude areas. This Nepal tour is not suitable for travelers who are mainly coming to Nepal for long treks or remote mountain expeditions. So choose wisely.

Best Nepal Tour Cost

Nepal tour package is fine, but the main question usually is what does the Nepal tour actually cost? We at Nepal Trekking Routes charge USD 1830 per person for this package.

This price covers the main parts of the trip like Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan along with the planned activities mentioned in the itinerary. You don’t have to worry about arranging each part separately, it’s all handled in one package.

There aren’t hidden add on charges in the middle of the trip unless you decide to take extra things on your own.

Everest Mountain Flight Nepal Tour from Kathmandu with Mount Everest Views

This Nepal trip package also takes you to the most talked about Everest region through a mountain flight from Kathmandu. The plane follows the Himalayan range and gives you a clear view of Mount Everest when the sky is clear. It’s a normal passenger flight, you just get a window seat view of the mountains the whole way.

This Everest mountain flight in Nepal is included for people who want to see the Everest region without any difficulty of trekking in Nepal. It’s often part of Nepal tour packages because it’s the quickest way to get close views of the mountains without going on trekking routes or spending extra days in the mountains.

What should the visitors expect from this tour realistically?

This trip is a good way to see Nepal’s main places in one go, but it’s not the kind of journey where you go deep into every region or stay off the usual route for long. If you were expecting the tour to be fully in depth, focusing on each destinations detailly, then it's not quite right.

It doesn’t go into serious trekking in Nepal, and it’s not built for remote mountain trails or places far away from the main travel circuit. Most of the time is spent moving between Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan, and some of those road journeys can take a few hours depending on traffic and weather.

It’s more of a see the main highlights type of trip rather than something slow or highly detailed in one specific area.

Nepal Highlights Tour
Essential Information

How difficult is the Nepal highlights tour?

The Nepal tour difficulty for this highlights trip is easy. There is no trekking or hard physical activity. You mostly travel by road between places like Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan National Park, with normal sightseeing and short walks.

The only thing to keep in mind is the road travel. Some drives you take are definitely long and can feel tiring, but there's nothing physically that difficult as you are just sitting and moving from one place to another.

You should do the Nepal highlights tour if you:

  • Want to see Nepal without trekking or physical effort
  • Are okay with a bit of long road travel between destinations
  • Prefer a simple trip where everything is already arranged for you

Best season for Nepal sightseeing tour packages

This is just a simple idea of when this Nepal highlights tour feels better. All seasons work, just the experience changes a bit depending on when you come.

Nepal sightseeing tour in Spring season

Spring is when a lot of people end up travelling on this route. Around Kathmandu and Pokhara you’ll notice more movement, and Chitwan also has regular safari activity going on. It’s a normal travel period with many tours running at the same time.

Nepal tour in Autumn season

Autumn is the main season for this Nepal highlights tour. Most departures happen around this time, especially in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan National Park. It’s the period when most people plan their Nepal trips.

Nepal sightseeing tour in Winter season

Winter still works fine for this itinerary. You follow the same route through Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan, just with fewer travellers compared to other months. Travel continues as normal.

Nepal tour in Summer season

Summer is the monsoon period, so this is the least chosen time for the Nepal sightseeing journey. The same places are included in the route, just with fewer people travelling during this season.

What should I do immediately after I arrive in Kathmandu?

The moment you step out of Kathmandu airport, your trip actually starts for real. Someone from the team will usually be there waiting for you, and you will start to move straight through the busy airport area and into the city.

After that, you’ll probably want to rest for a bit after the flight. If you still have energy and it’s not too late, you can step outside for a quick walk and get your first real feel of the city.

And don’t skip food here. Try some local food in Kathmandu, even on day one. We know it might sound too early, but it’s never too early to try something good. A plate of momo or a simple dal bhat hits different when you’ve just arrived.

Accommodation during the Nepal Tour Package

Where you stay on this trip depends on your budget and what kind of place you like. We don’t force one type of hotel for everyone.

In Kathmandu and Pokhara, you’ll find every type of stay, from simple tourist hotels to more comfortable upgraded options which gives them the luxury Nepal tour feel. Some people just want a clean room and good location, others prefer a bit more comfort, so we arrange it based on what you choose.

In Chitwan National Park, there are regular hotels available, but we usually suggest staying in local style resorts or safari lodges. It just feels more connected to the place and you also get a better sense of the local hospitality there.

Food During your best Nepal Sightseeing Tour

Nepal and food just go together, and there’s no doubt in that.

In Kathmandu, momo is everywhere. Steamed, fried, spicy, mild, small shops, proper restaurants, all of it. Dal bhat is the regular meal people actually eat day to day, rice, lentils, veg or meat sides, simple but filling. If you try Newari food, it’s a bit different from the usual stuff, chhoila has a smoky spicy taste, bara is more like a soft savory pancake, and yomari comes slightly sweet.

In Pokhara, things feel lighter. You’ll still get dal bhat, but a lot of people end up eating thukpa without planning it, just because it’s easy and warm. Around Lakeside there’s cafe food too, pasta, sandwiches, that kind of thing, but momo still somehow shows up again and again.

In Chitwan National Park, food is more basic and home style. Rice, lentils, vegetables, sometimes local Tharu dishes. Nothing fancy, just simple meals after safari days, and that actually fits the place.

If there are a few things you shouldn’t skip, it’s momo at least once properly, dal bhat in the local way, and Newari food in Kathmandu if you want something with a stronger, different taste.

Do I need a visa for Nepal and how does it work on arrival?

Yes, most travelers can get a visa on arrival at Kathmandu airport without any prior application. After landing, you fill out a form, go through immigration, and pay the visa fee based on how many days you are staying.

It usually takes some time depending on how busy the airport is. You only need a valid passport and a passport-sized photo, and after that you are free to continue your trip inside Nepal.

Language and communication in Nepal

In Kathmandu and tourist areas like Pokhara, English is commonly understood in hotels, restaurants, and places that deal with travelers. You can easily ask for food, directions, or general help during your Nepal holiday tour package.

Outside the main tourist spots, English may not be spoken as much, but communication still happens through simple words, gestures, or with the help of your guide during the tour.

A simple thing to know before coming is “Namaste”, which is the common way to say hello in Nepal. It is used everywhere and people respond to it warmly.

If you are confused about anything during your trip, you can simply ask locals. Most of them are very friendly and will be more than happy to help you or point you in the right direction.

Clothing and What to wear in Nepal

You don’t really need to take a baggage of stress while thinking about clothes for this Nepal highlights tour. Just wear what you normally wear when you’re out for the day.

In Kathmandu and Pokhara your most of the activity will be walking around, stopping for food, temples, viewpoints, then walking again. People are in jeans, t-shirts, light jackets, sneakers. You’ll fit in with that easily.

Chitwan is different because of Chitwan National Park. You’re outside more, on safari drives, moving around in the sun, so just wear light clothes you can move in without thinking much about it.

One thing to be careful about is don’t show up too exposed while you are visiting temples. Cover shoulders, cover knees if you can. That’s really all there is to it and most people already do it without being told.

Shoes matter a lot. We know you might have heard it a billion times as of now, but it's actually true. One proper pair you can walk in all day is enough. You’ll be on roads, steps and uneven paths, so comfort is the only thing that actually matters here.

And if you want a few good photos during the trip, pack one or two outfits you actually like wearing. That’s it.

Local Culture and Etiquette in Nepal

Travel in Nepal is easy if you just follow how people already do things around you.

In Kathmandu, Pokhara and even during parts of a Nepal cultural sightseeing tour or Nepal travel package route, you’ll notice one thing quickly, people are warm but not overly open in a personal way unless you interact naturally with them.

You’ll hear “Namaste” everywhere. It’s the normal greeting in Nepal and you can use it with anyone from hotels to small shops. It keeps things simple.

As mentioned above, dress up well in temples. Locals might not tell you anything immediately, but they will judge you for sure. So it’s better to keep it simple and respectful when you’re visiting religious places.

Respect people’s privacy too. As charming and kind as Nepalese people seem, they also like to keep their boundaries, and that’s something you should respect while interacting or taking photos.

Currency in Nepal during your Nepal Sightseeing Tour

The currency used in Nepal is the Nepalese Rupee (NPR). Once you’re in Nepal, this is what you’ll actually be spending day to day, whether it’s food, taxis, tickets, or small shops during the tour.

You can exchange money easily in Kathmandu and Pokhara, and ATMs are available in the main cities. They don’t always behave perfectly with every foreign card, so it’s better not to depend only on cards. Cash still makes life easier, especially when you’re outside the main tourist areas or buying small things on the road.

Safety Measures for this Nepal Sightseeing Tour

Nepal is generally safe to travel, but here are some of the safety points for you to take into consideration:

  • Keep your passport on you, and a photo copy on your phone just in case
  • In Kathmandu and other busy spots, just keep an eye on your bag. Nothing over the top, just normal caution
  • At places like Pashupatinath Temple, follow what the locals or staff tell you. Some areas are restricted and they won’t really bend rules
  • Road trips between Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan can be long and a bit tiring, so stay seated and use seatbelts when you can
  • Weather changes fast in Nepal. Flights like the Everest mountain flight can get delayed or cancelled without much warning
  • Stick to bottled water
  • In Chitwan National Park, listen to the guide properly. Don’t wander off or try to get close to animals, even if it looks safe
  • If long drives don’t suit you, carry basic motion sickness tablets
  • Dress decent when visiting temples and religious places
  • Travel insurance is a good backup. Most trips go fine, but it’s not worth taking chances
