On the arrival day, the team member of Nepal Trekking Routes welcomes you at the Kathmandu International Airport. Then, he transfers you to the hotel which is booked for your accommodation. In the spare time, you can take a stroll around the tourist hub, Thamel Bazaar to collect the trekking gears. In the evening, the trekking guide gives you all the information regarding Manaslu Base Camp trek.

 

After having breakfast, you begin the journey towards Lapubesi of  Gorkha district driving along the Prithvi Highway. The drive offers you the magnificent view of the snowy peaks of Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and Langtang region. You follow the choice road: via Dhading Besi or Aambu Khaireni to Gorkha to reach the night station. On the way, you go across Aarughat and Soti Khola, two important stops during trekking to Manaslu Base Camp.

 

Today, you formally start the trekking along Manaslu Circuit trail that goes uphill and downhill through the dense forests. During the trip, you enjoy the gurgling water of the Budhi Gandaki River enjoying the amazing outlooks of the nature. You can hear the birds singing for you hiding behind the aldar, blue pine and poplar trees somewhere in the forests. You have the splendid view of Shringi Himal, Ganesh Himal and Himalchuli while crossing some Gurung ethnic villages.

 

You follow the trail that goes past a gorge between the soaring natural walls and waterfalls towards Philim for the night rest. You go past Deng and Kutang, a purely Tibetan village in Lower Nubri region one of the two valleys found in Manaslu region. You enjoy the stunning appearance of Lumbo Himal, Lapuchen Peak and Dwijen Himal on the way.

 

Now, you begin today’s trekking moving along the trail that goes past Ekle Bhatti by relishing the sunvise view of the Budhi Gandaki River Valley. You come to see a natural waterfall at the junction to Tsum Valley and Manaslu Circuit trekking trail. Crossing the Budhi Gandaki River a few times, the trail leads you through some dense forests and villages like Rana, Bihi Phedi and Lihi. The trail takes you higher through the mani walls decorated with the prayer flags and the mesmerizing outlook of Ngadichuli and Mt. Manaslu.

 

Today, you ascend along the trail that goes past lush woods of rhododendron and bamboo trees to reach Namrung village. You can observe Buddist gompas, mani walls and decorated entrance gates that you feel as if you were in Tibetan Autonomous Province. Witnessing the rarest view of Manaslu and other peaks, you move ahead leaving some villages like Sho and Shyala. Finally, walking past a green meadow, you reach Samagaun for the night rest.

 

You are going to explore the important sites of Manaslu region during the acclimatization day at Samagaun. Although geographically Samagaun lies in Nepal, culturally and religiously it resembles more with Tibet as if it were a little piece of the Last Shangri-La. Today, you follow the trail that goes past the Birendra Lake, one of the major attractions of Samagaun acclimatization day.

After enjoying the beauty of the turquoise water of the lake, you move further towards the base camp of Mount Manaslu. The trekking to Manalsu Base Camp which is the ultimate goal of this trekking in Nepal itinerary, is quite challenging. Most of the time, the path remains snow-covered  but once you reach the base camp, you really feel blessed.

After enjoying the snowy peaks of Manalsu region, Langtang region, Ganesh Himal and Annapurna range, you retreat towards Samagaun for the accommodation.  Alternatively, you can also hike to Pungyen Gompa which takes around four hours to reach from Samagaun.

 

Following the same trail you used earlier, you now trek down towards Namrung, a typically Tibetan styled village. During the return journey, you enjoy the mountain views, glaciers, waterfalls and diverse species of birds.

 

After having breakfast, you follow the trail that descends along dense forests of Manaslu Conservation Area, one of the Himalayan conservation zones. On the way, you can also see the Himalayan Pheasant (Lophophorus), the national bird of Nepal playing hide and sick with you. Relishing the snowcapped peaks, you reach Jagat for the night stay at a local guesthouse.

 

Walking along the trail that descends through some natural hot springs in the wilderness and Gurung ethnic villages, you reach Sotikhola. On the way, you also walk past Machha Khola, a popular stopover for the trekkers who are doing off the beaten path trekking to Manaslu region. You will continue the retreat trekking following the banks of the Budhi Gandaki River.

 

After having breakfast, you will start the return drive to Kathmandu again enjoying the majestic view of the lush valleys, wonderful landscapes and snowy peaks. You will drive past the historical city of Gorkha Bazaar where you can also visit two palaces built before the unification of Nepal. The palaces are preserved as museums which are some of the most important must-visit historical sites of Nepal. They have also helped to promote Nepali tourism in the international tourism market. After you arrive Kathamndu, you can take a short walking around Thamel Bazaar to collect some souvenirs and thankas or other stuffs to present to your people in the home country. In the evening, our agency organizes the farewell dinner at some cultural restaurant around the tourist hub, Thamel.
