Simikot Hilsa Trek is a journey of remoteness and backward district of Nepal. Simikot, the district headquarters of Humla is one of the remotest and backward district headquarters in terms of road, electricity, and other urban facilities. The district touches Tibet on its northern side at Hilsa, a point famous as a gateway to Mt. Kailash.

The trek starts from Simikot and follows the Karnali River until you reach the Tibetan border town of Hilsa. From Muchu, you will continue to the highest point of the trek, the 5200m Nara La pass. From here, you will descend to the village of Yakkharka, and then on to the Tibetan villages of Yalbang and Dhebang, before finally reaching the Tibetan border town of Taklakot.

During the trek, you will have the opportunity to explore the many Tibetan Buddhist monasteries that dot the landscape, as well as the traditional villages of the local people. You will also have the chance to observe the spectacular wildlife of the area, such as snow leopards, blue sheep, and Himalayan Tahr.
