Overview

6 Days Annapurna Base Camp Trek is one of the shortest treks in the popular Annapurna region. Trekking to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m) stands at the top position among the international trekkers. It is so because Mt. Annapurna (8,091m) was the first 8,000m+ peak scaled by human beings in the world.  The French climbers Louis Lachenal and Maurice Herzog reached the Annapurna Summit on 3 June 1950.

It is one of the 6 days trekking in Nepal packages most appropriate for the avid trekkers having a short time for Nepal. However, it rewards you with all the natural and cultural beauties that you get in 2 weeks and more.

Annapurna Base Camp trek takes you to Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP). It is the first and largest conservation area of Nepal established in 1986 to preserve biodiversity and promote tourism as well.

Also known as the Annapurna Sanctuary trek, you will have glimpses of some of the birds and animals during this trek. Making 6 days Annapurna Base Camp trek in spring is the best way to witness the colorful rhododendron flowers blossoming at the fullest.

You can do this trek at all times of the year. Nevertheless, the best time for the Annapurna Base Camp trek is spring and autumn.

In addition, you can see the cultural and linguistic variety in the Annapurna region trek making it a garden of different flowers. The dominant ethnic communities are Gurung and Magar. The authentic lifestyle, culture, and tradition of Gurung and Magar can be experienced during this trek.

Homestay facilities of these cultural villages let you taste their typical food and watch their cultural performance. As this region stands like a showcase of culture, nature and adventure, Annapurna Base Camp package is the first choice of the trekkers!

The Himalayas saw during 6 Days Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Hiunchuli (6,441m), South Annapurna (7,219m), Annapurna I (7,219m), Annapurna III (7,219m), Tent Peak/ Tharpu Chuli (5,665m), Singu Chuli/Fluted Peak (6,501m), Gangapurna (7,544m), Gandharwa Chuli (6,248m), Machhapuchhre /Fishtail (6,997m) and Mardi Himal (5,553m).

Annapurna Base Camp Trek Cost

6 days Annapurna Base Camp trek cost comes to be lower than the other Annapurna Base Camp package. It is so because it has a shorter itinerary than other packages. Duration of the trek is one of the most responsible factors to increase or decrease the overall cost of any tour or trek.

Due to the limited duration, you don’t have to spend much on food and accommodation services as well. For the Annapurna Base Camp trek, you don’t require any special permit by paying extra charges. Only ACAP Entry Permit and TIMS Card are the documents necessary for this trek.

Moreover, the Annapurna Base Camp trek for 6 days is a teahouse trekking which costs lower than camping trekking.

But the cost of 6 Days Annapurna Base Camp Trek Itinerary from Kathmandu comes to be higher as you have to use domestic flight service.

Annapurna Base Camp trek cost can be further minimized by choosing Annapurna Base Camp trek 4 days package. If you want Annapurna Base Camp helicopter return service, Nepal Trekking Routes is ready to manage this as well.

Some Trek Difficulty during 6 days ABC Trip

The total Annapurna Base Camp Trek length is 115 kilometers starting from Nayapul Pokhara. Covering the given distance in 6 days increases Annapurna Base Camp Trek difficulty.

You have to walk for about 5/6 hours every day along the rugged trails through the dense forests. Nonetheless, the trails you follow during 6 day Annapurna Base Camp trek are really well maintained and comfortable. Some sections around Deurali and MBC are difficult as they are avalanche-prone zones. You must cross such risky sections quite faster. However, even beginner trekkers who have physical fitness and mental readiness can do this trek successfully.

Availability of teahouses or lodges or hotels also plays a vital role in determining Annapurna Base Camp trek difficulty. Don’t worry about this as the Annapurna Base Camp trek route is popular for quality teahouses serving you a large number of food items. It is completely a teahouse trekking in Nepal; however, if you want, Nepal Trekking Routes arranges camping trekking as well.

Altitude gain during this trek is the only factor making this trek more difficult. Right from the second day, you begin traversing above 2,500m that means there is a possibility for altitude sickness. But, don’t worry as you will walk and spend the nights above the given altitude just for 3 days. The highest altitude to reach is Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m). As the Nepal trekking hours are not much longer, you can pause in the middle of the trip at regular intervals.

In case of altitude sickness, don’t forget to:

  • Have enough water, food, and sleep.
  • Keep first aid kit box in your backpack.
  • Walking with the slow paces.
  • Report to the team leader as soon as you feel uneasy.
  • Walk close to the fellow trekkers and the team leader
