What to do:
The most fascinating thing to do during Everest summer trek is observing and participating in the Dumji Festival. This is one of the greatest festivals of the Sherpa Community of the Everest Region.
This festival falls either in the second half of June or the first half of July. Dumji Festival Trek lets you enjoy the masked dances performed by the monks at the monastery-premises for four days.
At this festival, the Sherpa people gather at monasteries of Tengboche, Khumjung, Phakding, Namche Bazar, Pangboche, and Thame. Each family organizes the drinking, dancing, and merrymaking each year in turn.
What not to forget to see:
The summer weather of Everest Region is unpredictable. It rains in summer season in almost every part of Nepal. However, the views after the rainfall stops are spectacular. The snowcapped peaks washed by the heavy rain unleash their beauties at fullest.
The new leaves and boughs of the spring trees are grown into maturity. The forests of birch, pine, rhododendron, fir, and many other alpine plants look amazingly beautiful.
When the sunrays touch the Giant Mountains, glacial lakes, lush valleys, and green forests, they look really dazzling.
Gokyo Lake Trek
Gokyo Lake Trek or Gokyo Valley Trek as the name suggests goes around the Khumbu Pasang Lamhu municipality located at the 5,357 m above sea level.
Few things that make Gokyo Lake Trek a nice choice as a Summer Trek destination are that you can have a clear sky, beautiful rhododendron flowers, and a blooming forest. Along the trek, you can also watch the random frozen waterfalls that escalated from the snow-capped mountains.
The trek takes around 12 days to complete, and you can also watch Mount Everest, ancient monasteries, and a lot about Himalayan life in the trek. Gokyo Lake Trek can also be done through the EBC trek, or also directly.
