The festival is marked in the places like Tengboche Monastery, Pangboche, Namche, Khumjung Village and Junbeshi where Sherpa community has stronghold. During this festival the colorfully dressed dancing, drinking and prayer chants. The holy reason of festival celebration is to honor the Guru Rinpoche’s birth on the lotus. Trekkers can enjoy the Everest View Trek route too during this cultural excursion in Khumbu region of Nepal. Another splendid festival of the Khumbu region especially among Sherpa people are Mani Rimdu Festival. This celebration is done in the Monastery of Tengboche between mid October and mid November. As the venue of the festival is in Tengboche Monastery the trekkers can have grandeur of the Everest Base Camp Trekking trail as well. Fixed dates of the Mani Rimdu can be seen in Tibetan Lunar Calendar. This colorful festival is equally popular to the foreigners as well.
